Yeah - A post without a robot!
In already posted my hubby's Father's Day card from me, but I made this card to give to him from our Daughter. I'm excited because, while it's VERY simple, it's my first easel card. Here's the outside of the card:
And when you open it and stand it up, it looks like this:
Hubby recently got a new job, and needs some 'personal touches' for his desk, so with that in mind, I made this for him.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE DADS TODAY!

I Need An Intervention... And Robotz Rehab...
DejaVu!
You're thinking, Oh No She Didn't... Well, YES I DID - Another Robotz card!
I warned you that this was the month of 'Male Occasions' in my family, and I promise that now that this card is finished, I will put this cartridge on moth balls for a while :) It is just so perfect for these men in our lives...
Father's Day is Sunday, and my hubby is not only an awesome Dad, but he is also quite the handy-man, so he's getting...
I forgot how much fun using patterned cardstock for a card base was, and I especially like how the glitter finish on the cardstock resisted the distress ink. I also mounted both cuts on 3D-dots, which really gives this robot a fantastic look. I know hubby will like it because I put a cut on there for him - he loves looking at all of the little pieces and how they fit together.
I hope all of the Dads have a wonderful day this Sunday - let's all do our part to make it special for them!
About this card:
Cardstock Base - 4x8 (halved) from Nana's Kitchen
Robot Cut - Cricut cut from Robotz Cartridge cut at 2"
Tag - Cricut cut from Paper Lace cut at 3.5" wide
Embossing Inks - Spicy Marmalade & Broken China
Sentiment - Studio G Clear Stamp
Silver Brads - Stash
Stickles - Black Diamond, Silver, Orange, Waterfall & Lime Green
Sticky Gems - Stash
Ok seriously... Girly non-Robotz projects are coming soon! (I can hear the collective sigh of relief already...)

8 Random Things About Me
1) I hate mustard, but can't eat a McDonald's hamburger without it
2) I wear a size 10 shoe
3) I am the oldest of 4 kids
4) I love birds - if something has a bird on it, I have to have it - however, I would never want to have a bird as a pet
5) I love the smell of pickles
6) My favorite childhood movie is Goonies
7) I still use the same hair pick I used to tease my hair with in High School
8) Leaving a comment on my blog will MAKE MY DAY!

More Robotz
Well, it is like the month of cards for men around here, between family birthdays and Father's Day coming up. Looks like it's time to whip out the Robotz cartridge again and see what fun we can have:
I made this card for my brother for his birthday. Again, I used Paper Lace for the background and welded the shadow feature to make a card. My brother is a mechanic, so using this quirky guy seemed like a good fit for his card!
Card Base - Paper Lace cut at 4"; Cardstock - Papertrey Ink
Robot - Cricut Cut from Robotz cartridge cut at 4" (Bazzill Bling & stash paper)
Sentiment - Paper Lace cut at 2" (Bazzil Bling & stash paper)
Sprockets - Robotz Cartridge cut at .75" & .50" (Bazzill Bling & stash paper)
Silver brads, Black Diamond & Lime Green Stickles

Purple Rain...
Ok - it has done nothing but RAIN around here lately... You would think that would mean I would have gotten more cards made, but unfortunately it didn't. On a brighter note, I just got a nice new collection of Cricut Cartridges for Mother's Day/Birthday, so I was able to play a little bit...
Sorry my camera is not that great... But here is a card I made for my Mom to thank her for the cartridge she gave me - Paper Lace. This cartridge is AWESOME for card bases/journaling squares/photo mounts... Once you try it, I bet you go back to it many times!
Card Base/Sentiment/Lace - Cricut Cartridge Paper Lace cut at 4"x4"
Cardstock Base - Papertrey Ink
Cardstock Lace - Bazzill Bling
Cardstock Sentiment - Bazzill Bling
Ribbon / Bouquet Sticker are from my stash
Stickles - Lime Green & Yellow

Birthday Week - Part 2
Ok - the card I made this week for my Daughter's 2nd birthday (which is today) will probably surprise you a little. It looks like a card for a boy!
My daughter LOVES robots! We just bought her the latest Veggie Tales movie for Easter, and there is a robot bunny in it, and she just wants to watch it over and over... She calls them "Ba-Dots" - so I made her this card, and sure enough as soon as she opened the envelope a big smile crossed her face and she yelled "Ba-Dot!" So, I didn't get to be all pink and cute with her card like I would have wanted, but this one couldn't have been more perfect.
This was my first time using my Robotz cartridge - I thought the layers looked intimidating in the booklet, but if you make the 'Ba-Dots' big enough, they're really quite easy. Thanks for looking!
About this card:
DCWV Yellow Card Base
Robot18 Cricut Cut, Cut at 4"
Number 2 - Robotz Font
Bazzill Bling Cardstock
Candy Cane Stripes Cuttlebug Folder - Robot Body
Stickles - Orange, Silver & Black Diamond
Black Pearls - AC Moore
Ribbon from my Stash
Happy Birthday Stamp - KI & Co.

Preparing for Birthday Week
Happy Friday Everyone!
I hope everyone has a fun weekend planned, and that The Easter Bunny brings everyone their favorite goodies! This week is big for me - My Hubby's birthday is Thursday and my Daughter turns 2 on Friday. This being a Holiday weekend has forced me to start their goodies a little early, so that's exactly what I did last night. Here's the card I made for my Husband's upcoming birthday.
He thinks Cricut cuts are so neat, so while I needed to keep this masculine, I also was 'allowed' to put some cute into it since it is for him. Right now, I am totally loving the look of Baker's Twine on cards - My twine order hasn't arrived yet, so I found some Sugar 'N Spice crocheting yarn at Michael's that looks like the twine, and used that for the bow and background on this card. The inside of the card reads Hap-Bee Birthday, the saying that came with this cut from Birthday Bash.
Thanks for looking - Have a Blessed Easter Weekend Everyone!
About this card:
Card Base - StudioG
Scalloped Circle - Spellbinders Nesties/Papertrey Inc. Patterned Paper Distressed with Walnut Stain Distress Ink
Cricut Cut - Bee from Birthday Bash cut at 4" on Bazzill Bling cardstock
Sugar 'N Spice Crocheting Yarn
Stickles - Black Diamond, Lime Green, Waterfall & Yellow
